Professional Summary
Over 25 years of experience in Marketing & Sales for two of the largest FMCG companies in the world, responsible for iconic brands and for developing multiple categories: confectionery, savoury snacks & Ice Cream.
Mauricio started his career at Pepsico where he evolved from Sales to Marketing in which he held senior positions: Sr. Marketing Manager and Sales Director for the largest region in the Country. He obtained the Pepsico’s Chairman Award for a promotion with Cheetos, an iconic global brand, and was appointed to the team responsible for closing the acquisition of Mafer Nuts brand from Unilever.
Mauricio’s ample experience with different consumers, shoppers and route-to-market models made him an ideal candidate for a fast-paced and dynamic business such as Ice Cream with Nestlé Mexico. In his tenure, Mauricio leveraged global innovation and tailored it to local needs, successfully positioning new brands and products in the Mexican market.
Throughout his career, Mauricio has been regarded as a strategic marketer, driven by results, curious and with a people-oriented style. Thirsty for knowledge and searching for new ways to keep updated studied a Full-Time Masters in Digital Management at Hyper Island UK, Manchester in 2019 where Mauricio acquired new skills to face complex problems in business and society by using human-centric design approach, working with clients and end-users to develop digital products and services.
In April 2020 Mauricio joined Sarape Social a social impact agency based in México to lead the Innovation agenda and incorporate innovation tools and methodologies to amplify the impact of solutions and actions to tackle complex social problems in clients like Pepsico, AbbVie, Bayer, Cemex .
In 2021, Mauricio has been working with Hyper Island Americas, as business leader designing and facilitating Business Transformation journeys through workshops for clients like IDB (Interamerican Development Bank), Danone, Mondelez, IBM, Google and is an speaker and facilitator for the Hyper Island on-line courses in spanish of Future Leadership, Human Centric Toolkit and Business Transformation.
In addition Mauricio has had the opportunity to be part of IAB Mexico instructors team by training individuals in organisations to upscale their digital and strategic capabilities needed to face new world challenges for clients like Laboratorio Sanfer, Allergan, Cisco.
During the last 4 years he has been working on a diverse portfolio of projects in Mexico and internationally, where he has designed and facilitated workshops to solve complex problems in specific areas such as innovation, cultural transformation, leadership, change management, creativity, futures design, and diversity and inclusion for clients such as:
